SunEdison acquired the business of Renewable NRG™, a leading solar company in Portland.

According to Thomas (Tom) Rainwater, CEO of SunEdison, “Oregon citizens are pioneers in protecting the environment and using renewable energy, and Oregon is an important market for the PV industry. We are honored that Renewable NRG has chosen to become a part of our team. Their regional expertise in deploying and servicing photovoltaic systems in Oregon augments the SunEdison experience well.”

Russ Wright, CEO of Renewable NRG, added, “I have long respected the standards and innovation that SunEdison has brought to the solar energy services industry. This is a great fit for Renewable NRG customers and for organizations to deploy clean solar electricity without any upfront costs.”

Mr. Wright will continue developing solar energy services projects on behalf of SunEdison in Portland, serving current Renewable NRG and SunEdison customers. Wright will also continue in his role as treasurer of the Oregon Solar Electric Industry Association.

SunEdison will fulfill existing solar installation contracts and the solar power services agreements of Renewable NRG, which include PV systems for Parr Lumber and the City of Hillsboro.

Hitachi ID Systems, Inc. Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT / TSE: 6501, "Hitachi") has acquired a majority ownership interest in M-Tech Information Technology, Inc. ("M-Tech"). The transaction adds M-Tech's identity management software and services to Hitachi's information security solutions portfolio. Effective April 2, 2008, M-Tech's name has been changed to Hitachi ID Systems, Inc. ("Hitachi ID"). With stricter regulations requiring stronger internal controls and more effective privacy protection in corporations and government agencies alike, organizations are expanding their investment in information security.
U.S. Geothermal To Acquire Power Plant U.S. Geothermal Inc. (“U.S. Geothermal”) has entered into an agreement with Michael B. Stewart individually and Empire Geothermal Power LLC (“Empire”)(together “Seller”), to acquire a 3.6-megawatt operating geothermal power plant and approximately 28,358 acres (44.3 square miles) of geothermal energy leases and certain ground water rights all located north of Reno Nevada. The power plant is comprised of four binary cycle units, a wet cooling tower and nine geothermal wells developed in a proven geothermal reservoir.
HP and Tower Software, Acquisition HP and Tower Software have signed a pre-bid agreement for HP to acquire Tower, a document and records management software company based in Canberra, Australia. The acquisition of Tower will add electronic records management to HP Software’s existing e-discovery and compliance capabilities in information collection and retention. This includes both records management and identification, which have become increasingly important for organization due to rules and regulations such as the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts.
NAVTEQ Acquisition by Nokia, EU Review The European Commission has initiated a Phase II review of the pending acquisition of NAVTEQ by Nokia. This is part of the Commission's review process, and does not in any way signal the ultimate outcome. "We have engaged in an open and constructive dialogue with the Commission in order to find agreement on the acquisition of NAVTEQ. We have listened to the Commission's concerns, and look forward to finding a common understanding that will enable the transaction to be closed," said Rick Simonson, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Nokia.
